Matthew Kooperman

Matthew Kooperman joined Equitable Advisors in June 2023 when he moved his practice to Equitable
from another national broker dealer. Matthew began his financial services career in 2011 after several
years practicing law in Illinois. Matthew maintains his law license in good standing with the Illinois
bar, on inactive status while maintaining active securities licenses per industry policy. Matthew combines his enthusiasm for helping people with his deep passion for the capital markets and investing, to help his clients work towards their financial goals.
Matthew works primarily with individuals, families, and the owners of small businesses on a range of
topics that include but are not limited to investing, retirement income planning, multi-generational wealth planning and wealth transfer, tax strategies, life insurance, annuities, long term care, asset protection strategies, investing for a child’s college education, and investing unexpected windfalls. Matthew believes in providing his clients with a high level of customer service and custom tailors financial solutions for each of his clients. As no two clients are in the same financial situation, no two portfolios are exactly alike and each client benefits from an independent perspective and solutions tailored to their individual goals and personal financial situation.
Matthew takes a collaborative approach to working one on one with his clients, and is willing to work with their other advisors including tax professionals and estate planning attorneys to create unique solutions that cater to a client’s specific financial goals. Client referrals are welcome and gratefully accepted. Matthew currently holds a securities license in several states that include Illinois, Wisconsin, Iowa, New York, Vermont, Florida, Arkansas, Nevada, Arizona, California, Colorado and the state of Washington. Matthew graduated in 1997 from The University of Iowa, Iowa City, IA with a Bachelor of Science in Geology. Matthew served as an Agroforestry volunteer in the US Peace Corps in El Salvador from 1998-2000. Matthew graduated from Northern Illinois University College of Law in Dekalb, IL in 2006. Matthew lives in the Ravenswood neighborhood on the north side of Chicago.
